Privacy Notice.
What personal data Daveth holds, why, who else handles it, how long it is kept, and what you can ask us to do with it.
1. Who is responsible
Daveth is operated by DAVETH LLC, a limited liability company registered in Montana, USA, based in Kalispell, MT 59901, USA. It decides how and why your personal data is used for Daveth, and is responsible for it. For any question or request about your data, write to support@daveth.com.
2. What we collect
- Account: your name, your email address, and the Daveth ID created for your account.
- Sign-in and security: the time you sign in and out, the kind of device (for example, desktop or phone), and records of the session on your device. Sign-in codes are created and checked by our sign-in provider. To stop abuse, we count requests per email address and per network address using a keyed one-way code (a hash) of each; we do not keep the address itself for this.
- Your agreement: which versions of the Terms and this Notice you accepted, and when.
- Plan and payments: your plan, its status and renewal date, and for each payment its amount, currency, date, status and invoice number. At checkout you enter a billing address and, if you choose, a tax ID; they appear on your invoice and decide the tax due, and they are held by Stripe for us. Card details are collected by Stripe, our payment processor, and are never seen or stored by Daveth.
- Learning: as these features become available, which lessons you open and finish, video viewing, lab results and practice-exam results, so that your progress can be shown to you and certificates can be checked.
- Messages: what you write to us and our replies.
- Site use, only if you agree to analytics: the pages you visit on Daveth, the buttons and links you use, when you create an account or start or finish a checkout, the kind of device and browser, and roughly where you are (country or city). It is counted by Google Analytics and is not linked to your name, email address or Daveth ID.
We do not collect special categories of data (such as health, religion or political opinions), and we do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.
3. Why we use it
- To provide Daveth: your account, sign-in, your plan and the courses it opens. This is needed to perform our agreement with you.
- To keep Daveth secure: preventing abuse, account sharing and fraud. This is in our legitimate interest and yours.
- To meet legal duties: for example, keeping records of payments and of your agreement to our terms.
- To talk to you: sign-in codes, payment confirmations, notices about your account and replies to your messages. We send marketing email only if you have agreed to receive it, and every such email lets you stop it.
- To learn which pages help: counting visits and clicks with Google Analytics, only if you agree to it. This relies on your consent.
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time; this does not affect what was done before.
5. Who else handles your data
We use a small number of providers to run Daveth. Each receives only what it needs for its task:
- Cloudflare: hosting, delivery, security and the bot check.
- Supabase: our database and sign-in service.
- Stripe (Stripe, Inc.): processes card payments for us, keeps the billing details you enter at checkout, and calculates sales tax. It handles card details under its own privacy policy.
- Google (Google LLC): Google Analytics, only if you agree to it, to count visits and clicks on Daveth. It does not receive your name, email address or Daveth ID.
- Our email provider: sends sign-in codes and account emails.
- Our video delivery provider: streams course videos, when you watch them.
We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to protect Daveth and its learners from fraud or abuse.
6. Where your data is processed
Our providers run services in several countries, so your data may be processed outside the country where you live. We use providers that protect personal data under contracts and safeguards recognised for international transfers.
7. How long we keep it
- Account and learning data: while your account exists. After you delete your account, or ask us to, it is deleted within 30 days. An account with no plan and no sign-in for six months is removed after a warning email 30 days before.
- Payment records and records of your agreement to our terms: as long as tax, accounting and other laws require, even after an account is deleted.
- Sign-in, security and request-limit records: only as long as needed for security, and no longer than 12 months.
- Messages to us: up to 24 months after the conversation ends.
- Analytics data: Google Analytics deletes the details of each visit after 2 months, and what it keeps about each browser after 14 months. Clearing your browser’s cookies removes the analytics cookies at once.
8. Your rights
Depending on the law where you live, you can ask us to: tell you what data we hold about you and give you a copy; correct it; delete it; give it to you in a portable form; restrict or object to how we use it; and withdraw consent. Write to support@daveth.com from the email address on your account. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the data-protection authority in your country. You can withdraw your consent to analytics at any time with Cookie choices at the foot of any page.
9. Security
We protect your data with encrypted connections, sign-in without passwords, one sign-in per account, server-side access checks, limits on requests and access to our systems kept to the minimum. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the authorities where the law requires.
10. Age
Daveth is for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you believe someone under 18 has an account, write to us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this Notice
We will publish any new version with its effective date and, if the change matters to you, tell you by email or when you next sign in.
